چکیده
Introduction: Evidence concerning the role of isolated lateral retinacular release (LRR) for patellar compression syndrome (LPCS) dates back at least three decades. Appropriate indications, execution and outcomes still remain unclear controversial. The present investigation analyzed midterm result arthroscopic LRR LPCS in a cohort patients who underwent such procedure our institution. Material methods: Patients undergoing were identified retrospectively from electronic database. All procedures performed by two experienced surgeons. with bony and/or soft tissues abnormalities, patellofemoral instability, moderate to severe chondral damage not included. previous surgeries included, as those combined interventions. Clinical scores complications recorded. Results: 31 recruited investigation. mean follow-up was 86.0 ± 22.8 months. age index operation 34.2 13.1 years. A total 55% (17 31) women, 58% (18 had involved right knee. hospitalization length 3.5 1.4 days. At months, numeric rating scale (NRS) 1.2 0.8, Kujala score 91.3 11.3, Lysholm 93.1 15.0, Tegner 5.0 1.8. latest follow-up, 9 (29.0%) compilations. One patient (3.2%) post-operative hemarthrosis which managed conservatively. Six (19.4%) reported persistent sensation without signs dislocation or subluxation. an meniscectomy, another anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction. Conclusion: is feasible effective, achieving satisfying results more than seven years following procedure.

متن کاملLateral patellar retinacular release: changes over the last ten years☆
Lateral retinacular release is a useful resource in knee surgery that can be used for disorders of the extensor mechanism. For many years, it was indiscriminately used in the treatment of the various patellofemoral joint alterations, with conflicting functional results. This study aimed to analyze the changes that have occurred in the indications and clinical effectiveness of lateral retinacula...
متن کاملLateral Retinacular Release for Anterior Knee Pain
Background: Lateral retinacular release for anterior knee pain is a popular procedure. Despite its popularity the indications and pre-operative evaluation is not clearly defined. Goal of this paper is to perform a systematic review of the literature in order to evaluate the outcome of lateral releases for anterior knee pain. In addition we attempt to compare the results of open versus arthrosco...
متن کاملTreatment for lateral patellar impingement syndrome with arthroscopic lateral patelloplasty: a bidirectional cohort study
BACKGROUND Anterior knee pain is one of the most common musculoskeletal complaints of young patients. We notice that some patients had normal femoral trochlear, medial and lateral patellar retinaculum, and special patellar morphology, which resulted in a series of symptoms in the flexion of the knee due to the impingement of the lateral articular surface of the patella with the femur. We firstl...

STUDY DESIGN A single-case study design. OBJECTIVES To examine the effect of electrical stimulation of the vastus medialis muscle on stiffness, pain and function for a patient with delayed functional progress following a lateral patellar retinacular release. BACKGROUND Five months after an arthroscopic lateral patellar retinacular release, the patient, although highly motivated, had made li...
